“It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men at their own choice, if the laws are so voluminous that they cannot be read or so incoherent that they cannot be understood” – James Madison
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in my firm’s services. I appreciate that you have many choices when it comes to hiring quality legal representation. I am confident that your visit to Panagopoulos Embry P.C. will be educational, productive, and fully meet or exceed your expectations. I want you to know that I personally review all email that comes into the firm. Your comments and feedback are always welcome.
The James Madison quote above offers an important and prescient message from our national archives: Madison clearly anticipated that a maturing America would have to grapple with a complex legal structure. As we look around at the current landscape of the laws by which we govern ourselves, we see that James Madison was directly on point in his message: that if the laws we make become so voluminous and incoherent, that the ordinary People do not read and cannot understand them; they will have little value to the People, but to fertilize corruption and confusion.
Panagopoulos Embry P.C was founded on the premise that the law should be available to the People, to you, our clients, so that they may plan, grow and protect their lives, liberty, and pursuits of happiness. Our staff of legal experts is here to bring the law to the People, to our clients.
I look forward to visiting with you, and assisting you soon.
Mr. Dimitri Panagopoulos LL.M.
Founder, Panagopoulos Embry P.C.
Additional Personal Details:
Dimitri Panagopoulos founded Panagopoulos Law P.C., in 2010 after retiring from a successful fifteen year career as a private investigator in Arizona, so that he could move his wife and daughter to San Diego, where he dreamed of living from early on in life. By 2013, like his investigation practice before, Dimitri saw solid and increasing growth, and expanded his practice and firm capacity by partnering with his longtime friend and colleague Ben Embry, and Panagopoulos Law P.C., became Panagopoulos Embry P.C.
Dimitri’s core practice areas are centered on his vast experience and background as an investigator, as well his academic expertise which includes an LL.M. (Master of Laws), degree which is an advanced post Juris Doctorate law degree, which signifies him to be recognized as an expert in his field of study. Dimitri’s particular field of study for his LL.M., program was representation of small businesses. In that program, Dimitri’s academic focus was on tax matters effecting small businesses, entity selection, business succession planning, negotiating complex contracts, and ethical compliance. Dimitri graduated Summa Cum Laude “With Highest Honors”, in the top 5% of his class.
Dimitri’s academics also include that he studied White Collar Crime, Business Crime, and Organized Crime, in his studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he obtained a B.A. in Criminal Justice. While many studying criminal justice take a track that leads to administration of justice, Dimitri’s course of studies were directed towards the criminological aspects of business conduct, and the conduct of its principals.
Other notable experience Dimitri brings to his cases includes that from 2005 until 2010 he served as a court appointed mediator in Arizona. As a veteran mediator Dimitri facilitated hundreds of negotiations and helped litigants resolve contested civil disputes. That Court, attributed Dimitri’s success as a mediator to his demonstrated solid analytical skills, and his remarkable ability to understand and communicate with others.
Dimitri is currently admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court, for the Southern and Central Districts of California, and all California State Courts.
Dimitri brings his longstanding wealth of knowledge and experience to represent clients and their businesses, formidably, in a range of matters all coming within that focused expertise of small business representation. That range of matters includes these sub-areas of practice: Tax Law, Business Law (including the full gamut from entity selection and creation to business succession and winding down- which includes the full gamut of estate planning), criminal law, and personal injury matters.
Dimitri enjoys a reputation for being highly effective, professional, and reliable across his professional career. Throughout his career, Dimitri has woven together a tight network of colleagues, a true team of professionals, with whom he collaborates as part of his concerted approach to delivering the highest quality of justice for the clients of Panagopoulos Embry P.C.
Notable Cases on Dimitri’s Resume:
We keep our client’s names and matters confidential, there are several notable cases where Dimitri’s specific analysis and intellectual contributions to the case brought about out right dismissals, and acquittals. These cases are matters of public record.
Mohave County Arizona Superior Court Case No. S-8015-CR-20071351
Armed Robbery w/ eye witness. Client charged with robbing at gun point a craft boutique that gives proceeds of sale to cancer victims.
The client had been sitting in jail for a few months after her arrest, insisted on her innocence and was facing minimum 7 up to 21 year sentence if convicted. Prosecutor was offering no plea bargain- and threatening additional charges.
Dimitri’s keen analysis of the initial police investigation revealed various gaps in the facts, which led to further findings of deficient police work, and ultimately facts that exonerated the client.
The net effect of Dimitri’s involvement in the case was that Dimitri’s investigation revealed a confirmed third parties unbiased verification that the client was 130 miles from the scene of the crime- at the time the crime was being committed. The result was an outright dismissal of the charges against the client. Additional facts were also obtained by Dimitri to help identify the actual culprit who had since relocated to Colorado, and was believed to be getting treatment for a mental infirmity.
Mohave County Arizona Superior Court Case No. S-8015-CR-20080790
Burglary w/ Theft. Client was arrested and charged with dangerous felony facing minimum 7 to 21 years if convicted. No plea bargain was under consideration, and prosecutor was threatening to add additional charges.
Dimitri was called on to investigate the facts of the case, and in the course of such found various incidences of victim committing fraud and other illegal conduct, which together with other exculpatory evidence obtained by Dimitri resulted in an outright dismissal of the case.
Coconino County Arizona Superior Court Case No. CR-09-1032
Sexual assault allegations case. Client was a documented refugee from Africa facing imprisonment and/or immediate deportation to a war torn country in Africa.
The essence of the allegations were that the client forced himself upon the victim without her consent. Dimitri’s investigation which included reviewing the government’s disclosure/case discovery, and seeking out and interviewing various witnesses revealed the “victim” targeted the unsuspecting client at a bar, as a mark for to steal from or rob. She convinced the client to take her to a hotel for a consensual liaison, where she intended to rob the client. There the client discovered her motives, and removed her from the room without the two having engaged in any sex acts.
It was discovered that the victim had a pattern of similar behavior, and having owed money to other bar patron’s fabricated her story when she did have success robbing the client.
The case was dismissed.
Mohave County Arizona Superior Court Case No.(s) [All the Same Client]

S-8015-CR-20080053; Aggravated Assault w/ disfigurement-Loss or impaired Organ, and Aggravated Assault Bound Victim; NOT GUILTY
The client in this case was accused of various conduct which the facts did not support. The client had been labelled from past alleged transgressions with the law, and was a target of law enforcement. Dimitri’s investigations played an integral role in securing the three consecutive acquittals on very serious aggravated felonies, with gang related sentencing enhancements if convicted; and the dismissal.
